How to Join St. Clair Baptist Church

Membership is a vital part of St. Clair Baptist church. The New Testament indicates that the early church knew who were among the believers and who were not. This is seen in scriptures such as Acts 2:41-42, 1 Cor. 5:1-13, 2 Cor. 2:6, and 1 John 3:19.

Membership in the Baptist church is not salvation. Membership is to be evidence of salvation. Church membership is dependent upon Christian Baptism, which is dependent upon one being a Christian. This is why and how Baptists advocate regenerate church membership (a church composed of only born-again believers).

If you feel the Lord drawing you toward St. Clair Baptist Church, we highly encouarge you to consider church membership. Please come forward during the invitation time in our worship service.  If you are unable to attend this service due to work or other reasons, please contact us. There are three ways to join St. Clair.

1.     Profession of Faith

This decision is made by someone who recognizes their need for forgiveness of their sins through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross on their behalf. Some important scriptures include John 3:16, Romans 3:23, 6:23, and 10:9-13. After one has come to know Jesus, Believer's Baptism is a requisite. For more information on knowing Jesus as Lord and Savior visit here.

2.     Letter

This decision is made by one who is already a baptized Christian and is a member of a Baptist church of like faith and practice. We will write and request that your home church grant us your membership.

3.     Statement of Faith

This decision is made either by a person that is saved and baptized (by immersion after conversion), but whose church can not transfer membership or by someone that is a Christian but has not been biblically baptized. Christian baptism is a prerequisite to membership

Please know that our church (staff, deacons, or members) is available to discuss these important decisions with you.
